Central German Airports present their summer services at ITB in Berlin

From 7 to 11 March, Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports will be exhibiting on a joint stand at the world’s largest tourism fair, ITB in Berlin. Over the first three days of the exhibition, the focus will be on talking to airlines and travel operators. The exhibition opens to the general public at the weekend, when all visitors are welcome to come to stand 104 in Hall 11.2 to find out about the wide range of flights and services on offer at both airports.

Markus Kopp, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG:

“Participation in ITB is a must for the two central German airports Leipzig/Halle and Dresden. We meet numerous representatives of airlines and travel operators here and sit down with them to analyse existing flight routes and discuss new ones. It is also a good opportunity to present our summer timetable to the residents of Berlin and Brandenburg. We have a total of 51 destinations on offer.”

Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports offer flights to city and holiday destinations in Europe, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Red Sea and the Dead Sea as well as the Middle East.

New destinations from Leipzig/Halle in the 2018 summer season are Dubai, Bodrum, Dalaman and Tivat in Montenegro. In Dresden there is a choice of eleven new holiday destinations: from this spring, Germania will also be flying to Athens, Barcelona, Bastia, Lamezia Terme, Monastir, St Petersburg and Thessaloniki and there will be other new non-stop flights to Bodrum, Dubai, Malta and Marsa Alam.

The airlines also offer convenient connections to their hub airports from both Leipzig/Halle and Dresden. With such a wide range of daily connecting flights on offer, there are destinations and dates to suit everyone. Transit times at the hub airports are short.

There are several daily flights from Dresden and Leipzig/Halle to Frankfurt and Munich with Germany’s largest carrier, Lufthansa, and to Zurich with Lufthansa subsidiary SWISS. Eurowings, another Lufthansa subsidiary, operates flights from both airports to Düsseldorf, Cologne Bonn, Stuttgart and Palma de Mallorca.

In addition, there are flights from Leipzig/Halle to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, Vienna with Austrian Airlines, London Stansted with Ryanair and Moscow Vnukovo with Pobeda, and from Dresden to Moscow Sheremetyevo with Aeroflot, Basel with easyJet and Amsterdam with KLM.

Great value parking
With their excellent traffic links, the two airports are a genuine alternative for holidaymakers in particular. Passengers arriving by car can park close to the terminal at Dresden Airport in car park P3, with prices starting at as little as €15 per week. This makes Dresden Airport one of the cheapest airports in Germany.

Low-cost parking is also available at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Seasonal car parks P15 and P20 are reopening on 23 March, with P2 also available from then. Prices start at €20 for up to 8 days.
