Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding

Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding is the umbrella brand of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG (Central German Airports Group), a public company. Since its inception in 2000, Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding has been a shining example of cooperation between politics, public administration and business in Saxony and Saxony Anhalt - both at the federal state and municipal level. The strong network of central German airports is a key criterion in international companies' decisions to locate here and provides a boost for the regional economy.

Centralised management - Systematic development - Fit for the future

With its subsidiaries Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH, Flughafen Dresden GmbH and PortGround GmbH, Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding has managed to progress the expansion of the infrastructure at its two commercial airports cost-effectively and with the focus firmly on its customers. A major factor in this success is the strategy of centralisation. The structure of Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding ensures efficient management of funds and a concerted strategic orientation, and generates synergies in its affiliated companies.

The sustained supply-side infrastructure policy of the federal states of Saxony and Saxony Anhalt is underpinned by maintaining an outstanding position in aviation and by the many links between the region and business centres in Europe and world-wide through Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports.

The shareholders and the Executive Board of Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding consider the model of an efficient airport holding company with potential for expansion and for the integration of new shareholders to be an example for the future.
