Traffic statistics
Passenger numbers at Dresden International Airport have increased roughly ninefold since German reunification in 1990. There was a drop in passenger numbers in 2001/2002 after the events of 9/11. Numbers were up in 2007 despite the work on the renovation and extension of the runway, which involved closing the airport completely on four weekends. New rules for night flights came into effect at the end of 2008 (see above). 2009 was marked by the global economic crisis. In 2011 we achieved a new record of 1.92 million passengers.
