Quick and easy: to and from the airport by car, taxi/rental car and S-Bahn

A Skywalk connects the multi-storey car park (2,900 spaces) and the check-in area. The airport is just 20-30 minutes away from the city centre by taxi. Car rentals are available in the Arrivals area. S-Bahn line 2 stops at the airport’s underground station every 30 minutes. The journey time to the city is 20 minutes.

Grand Flea Market in the terminal on 3 October • Fringe events with guided tours, exhibition, collectors’ fair • New airport shop Gate 14 opens its doors

Flughafen Dresden GmbH and Sächsische Zeitung have pleasure in inviting you to the first flea market in the terminal on 3 October from 10:00 to 18:00. This grand art, antique and flea market will take place in the western wing of this popular event venue. Among the items on offer will be books, antiques, glass, porcelain, second-hand household goods, records, small items of furniture, art, pictures, crafts and collectors’ pieces such as historic picture postcards of the region.

Central German airports register a significant rise in passenger traffic at the end of the summer holidays

Overall, 446,654 passengers passed through the two commercial airports operated by Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, Leipzig/Halle Airport und Dresden Airport, during August 2014. As a result, the numbers of pas-sengers at the two airports exceeded the previous year’s figures by 9.3 percent.

14 September: Airport Family Day

Sunday 14 September sees Dresden International Airport open its doors for its ever-popular Family Day. The terminal – both inside and outside – will be buzzing with fun and games for children, a technology exhibition, guided tours, sightseeing flights, lots of information stands and special activities galore from 10:00 to 17:00. Admission to Family Day is free. Topping the bill on this year’s show programme is Dresden-born singer André Stade (Du bist Sehnsucht). All shops and the travel agencies at Dresden’s biggest travel centre will be open on Family Day. Refreshments will also be available. Parking in the airport multi-storey car park will cost just €3 during the event.
