Quick and easy: to and from the airport by car, taxi/rental car and S-Bahn

A Skywalk connects the multi-storey car park (2,900 spaces) and the check-in area. The airport is just 20-30 minutes away from the city centre by taxi. Car rentals are available in the Arrivals area. S-Bahn line 2 stops at the airport’s underground station every 30 minutes. The journey time to the city is 20 minutes.

Elephant, snow cutter-blower and Co.: exciting school holiday tours at Dresden Airport – special admission price on Shrove Tuesday

Why is the de-icer called the ‘Elephant’? How fast can the Panther 8x8 fire engine go? Where is the new exotic destination of Ras Al Khaimah? The airport’s tour guides will be delighted to answer questions just like these during Saxony’s winter school holidays. These 90-minute tours are available from 8 to 19 February and are already open for booking. On 9 February there will be pancakes and a special admission price for children in fancy dress to mark the Carnival season. Traffic developments at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports in 2015

4,048,446 passengers in all passed through the two commercial airports operating under the umbrella of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, Leipzig/Halle Airport and Dresden International, during 2015. As a result, the numbers of passengers at both airports fell by 1.1 percent below the figures for the previous year, largely because of the cancellation of flights owing to strike action. Freight volumes at Leipzig/Halle Airport set a new record for the eleventh year in succession.
