As Flughafen Dresden GmbH we are fully aware of the responsibility we bear towards the environment, so we operate our airport according to the following principles:

1. We are committed to protecting the environment.

We aim to protect and conserve the environment and our natural surroundings for the generations of today and tomorrow. So we regard environmental protection as a process of ongoing improvement and make sure that we use natural resources sparingly. We are always on the look-out for new ways of reducing the impact we have on our air and water, protecting the soil, avoiding waste and cutting our energy consumption.

2. We abide by the rules.

It goes without saying that we comply fully with our statutory environmental regulations. As an environmentally aware company, we strive to reduce the pollution associated with operating an airport even further than we are required to by law wherever it is possible and economically viable for us to do so.

All plans and new investments are subjected to strict environmental impact assessment, and we are always careful to select the most efficient technologies.

4. We take the interests of local people and organisations on board.

We regularly inform the public about our environmental impact and our efforts to protect the environment. We seek open, objective and critical dialogue with authorities, our neighbours and the general public.
