Airport fire brigade

Flughafen Dresden GmbH’s fire brigade has a new fire station in the eastern part of the airport, which was opened in 2003 and features state-of-the-art technology. The fire brigade has 47 members. Its vehicle fleet comprises eleven vehicles, five of which are fire fighting vehicles. The airport fire brigade was called out more than 3,500 times in 2007. A large proportion of the call-outs were for the mobility service for the disabled. On the next pages you can find out more about the fire brigade’s duties, vehicles and fire station.

A tip: If you would like to see the impressive fire-fighting vehicles at first hand, you can book an airport tour taking in the Panther, the Mamba and the other fire brigade vehicles with the Customer Service department. Approximately 12,000 visitors are taken behind the scenes of the airport fire brigade every year.
