Traffic statistics

Passenger numbers at Dresden International Airport have increased more than ninefold since German reunification in 1990. A new record of 1.86 million passengers was set in 2008. In 2007 Flughafen Dresden GmbH completely overhauled and extended the runway by 350 metres to 2,850 metres whilst the airport remained operational. Flights only had to be stopped on four weekends in June 2007 to allow the new runway to be concreted.
