Employment survey

The Airport is one of Dresden’s biggest business locations. A large number of companies from industries including aviation and logistics are based around the airport. EADS Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH converts Airbus passenger aircraft to freighters here. Two aeronautics testing organisations, IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH and IABG Industrieanlagen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH, have established themselves here. These two organisations are currently running fatigue tests on the new wide-bodied Airbus A380-800 in their joint hangar. International logistics service provider Schenker supplies Dresden’s semiconductor industry with complete manufacturing systems and spare parts from the airport.

We are also home to a large number of service providers (travel agencies, car rentals) and authorities (the Federal Police, the German Meteorological Service). The annual employment survey provides an overview of the numbers of jobs and companies at Dresden International Airport.
