Join uns on a virtual tour and experience the view arriving passengers enjoy. Starting at 9:40 am, we accompany an aeroplane of the Elbe Flugzeugwerke Flight Club approaching Dresden Airport.
Our aircraft is approaching Wilsdruff from the north.
We are still heading south. A look out of the cockpit reveals a first view of the Dresden basin on the left hand side.
Over Kesselsdorf we are turning for landing. Landing direction in Dresden is 04.
We are heading for landing. The rolling hills of Kesselsdorf are ahead of us; on the horizon you can see the densely built River Elbe valley.
We are crossing the A17 Dresden-Prague motorway building site.
We are flying over Zschonergrund dale, which marks the south-western limit of the City of Dresden.
We are flying over Dresden-Stetzsch. A look out of the cockpit reveals the Friedrichstadt railroad shunting yard on the right. You can see the Elbe loop with the old slaughterhouse halls and the Dresden Exhibition Centre.
We have now crossed the River Elbe. Our landing approach is taking us to the district of Übigau.
Dresden-Mickten lies ahead of us. On the horizon, the runway of Dresden Airport comes into sight.
While approaching, we are crossing the A4 motorway route. The district of Hellerau lies ahead, distinguishable by its marked water tower.
We are about to land on runway 04. You can clearly see the large buildings of Dresden Airport on the right of the apron.
The aircraft is crossing the runway treshold. On the right hand side you can see the distinctive Airport Terminal building.
Touch-down. We have landed safely at Dresden Airport. During the landing roll we are given instructions on how to leave the runway.
We are leaving the runway via taxiway C. From here you can see the assembly hall of Elbe Flugzeugwerke.
We have reached taxiway H. We are taxiing towards ramps 2 and 3 on the right.
We give way to a Lufhansa Airbus, taxiing away from a parking position at the Dresden Airport Terminal.
We are following the Lufthansa aircraft, passing ramp 3 and the terminal building.
Arrived! Scheduled and tourist aircraft would now turn towards the Dresden Airport Terminal. The docking system guides the aircraft to their final parking position at one of the telescopic gangways. Now welcome to Dresden.
