Metropolitan railway (S-Bahn)
S-Bahn line S2 links the airport and the city centre and, on weekdays, the towns of Heidenau and Pirna. The Airport station is situated on the basement level of the terminal building; it is the only underground station in Saxony. The modern double-deck trains run every 30 minutes.
A single ticket for the Dresden tariff zone is Euro 1.90 (valid on S-Bahn, tram and city bus). This fare makes the Dresden S2 line one of the most inexpensive airport shuttle services in Germany. Tickets can be obtained at ticket vending machines in the station or at the airport information desk on the Arrivals level of the terminal.
The trains call at the Dresden Klotzsche stop, where you can change to regional lines, and at the mainline stations Dresden Neustadt and Dresden Hauptbahnhof, where you can change to regional and interregional lines.

Tram and city bus
Bus routes 77 and 80 stop directly in front of the entrance of the Dresden Airport terminal.
Bus route 77 goes to the Infineon factory. You can alight at the »Infineon Nord« stop (travel time: 7 min) and take tram no. 7, direction Pennrich. The district of Dresden Neustadt (about 15 min), Hauptbahnhof mainline station (about 25 min) and many points of interest and interchange points are along the route of tram no. 7.
Southbound, bus route 80 runs from the airport to Omsewitz via the shopping centre ElbePark. In the other direction, route 80 runs from the airport to the urban railway station Grenzstraße (interchange to urban railway line S2), Käthe-Kollwitz-Platz (interchange to tram line 7 to the city centre and Pennrich) and to railway station Dresden-Klotzsche (interchange to urban railway line S2 and regional services).
