Germania now flying from Dresden to Reykjavik Keflavik

BERLIN – 28 June 2017 – From today, Germania is running flights from Dresden to Reykjavik Keflavik Airport in Iceland. This gives passengers a chance to take a holiday away from the more conventional holiday destinations. Iceland is a great alternative for active holidaymakers who prefer moderate temperatures in the summer. Germania will be connecting Saxony’s state capital with Keflavik every Wednesday and Saturday until October 2017 and will resume this service in summer 2018.

The connection to Reykjavik Keflavik is part of a growing programme of flights from Dresden. Compared to last summer, Germania flight movements are up by 43 percent. As a result, the airline with the green and white logo has expanded its facilities and taken on more staff at Dresden Airport. A new crew room has opened, equipped with technology so that the new total of 56 pilots and flight attendants can prepare even better for their flights. Germania will be creating more jobs at the airport in summer 2018. The first vacancies will be posted on flygermania.com and elsewhere in October 2017.

The first flight to Reykjavik Keflavik departs from Dresden Airport today, Wednesday, at 21:35. Iceland is becoming an increasingly popular travel destination. With its fjords, hot springs, volcanoes and highlands and its endlessly long summer days, the island is an ideal place for active holidaymakers who want to discover nature. Keflavik is 50 km west of the Icelandic capital Reykjavik, which is also an attractive destination with a wide-ranging cultural offer. The climate in Iceland is oceanic and cool, ensuring pleasant temperatures on the island in the summer.

Flights from Dresden to Reykjavik Keflavik are available for as little as €59 one-way. Tickets can be booked online at www.flygermania.com, by phone on +49 (0)30 610 818 000 (standard call rate from German landlines, mobile tariffs may differ) and at any travel agency. All prices quoted include taxes and charges and the statutory German air travel levy.
